I was pleasantly surprised with Silence.
I have to admit that while I loved Hush Hush, I was unhappy with Crescendo. For me, having Marcie in that book so much was too much to bear. Nora was so weak against her and I HATED Marcie with Patch. However, Silence brought me right back to everything I loved about Hush Hush.
First thing, Nora finally has a backbone. She pushed to discover the truth behind her memory loss and insisted on fighting back against the Black Hand. She really did a lot of growing up in this book and I loved it.
Second, lots of hot scenes with Patch. Yup, I love my romance and I love all the scenes with Patch. He's really one of my favorite YA male leads if not my actual favorite. In Silence, he was sweet, but also cocky and sexy so I was pleased.
This book was an easy read for me. I could've read it in one day because it's a real page turner. Bottom line: This book is good. If Fitzpatrick lost you in Crescendo, then I urge you to give her another shot with Silence. I promise you it won't disappoint. I'm eagerly looking forward to the final book in this series although I will miss Patch tremendously.
